What luck, i pulled a 30" walleye thru the ice with a crappie reel and 2lb test line. I was out fishing for perch with a wax worm on a Rappala and it hit it. Was it ever fun to see this thing come up out of the hole. To bad i did not have a camera with to take a picture as i did let it go. I did catch a few more perch after that but was still looking for a granddaddy walleye again, even though the season is closed for the winter until May 10th. It also is a great natural reproducing lake. Another reason the walleye count for this lake is so high is it is connected to Lower Red Lake via the Blackduck River. In the spring you can watch the walleye jump up over the damn coming from Red lake and then they get trapped in our lake.
